VdK Freising opposes social welfare cuts in healthcare and pensions

The VdK local association in Freising has issued formal appeals to policymakers to combat social erosion caused by recent healthcare, pension, and nursing care reforms.

During its recent annual general meeting, members demanded the reversal of several measures, including increased co-payments for medications, medical aids, and treatments, as well as cuts to dental replacement coverage and restrictions on sickness benefits and family insurance. The organization is advocating for a sustainable financing model for statutory health insurance that utilizes tax revenue to meet societal responsibilities.

In the sector of nursing care, the VdK is calling for fewer obstacles in obtaining appropriate care levels and seeks to maintain relief benefits of 131 euros. Additionally, the association supports increasing pension insurance contributions to assist family caregivers and urges stronger municipal responsibility for nursing care.
