VDMA MII to showcase industrial interoperability at SPS 2026

At the SPS 2026 trade fair in Nuremberg, VDMA Machine Information Interoperability (MII) will present live demonstrations focused on how standardized machine data enables advanced industrial technologies. The exhibits aim to show how open standards, specifically those based on OPC UA Companion Specifications, serve as the essential foundation for artificial intelligence applications, data spaces, and next-generation digital production systems.

One featured demonstration involves Systec, Siemens, and Mettler Toledo, who will showcase standardized weighing technology. This 'Plug & Produce' application demonstrates how new devices can be integrated into production environments rapidly without complex, custom integration by using standardized OPC UA information models. This approach allows devices from different manufacturers to be immediately understood and utilized through a shared semantic understanding of data.
