Veas AS wins sustainability award at Norsk Vann conference

The Norsk Vann annual conference was held on September 8 and 9 in Hamar, focusing on themes of sustainability, preparedness, and the organization’s 40-year history as it looks toward 2050.

Veas AS was awarded the sustainability prize for its systematic work in energy efficiency and resource recovery from wastewater and sludge. The company was recognized for its business strategy, which includes biogas utilization and heat pump energy recovery through collaborations with Hafslund Oslo Celsio and Oslofjord Varme. Notably, Veas opened the Hoop CO2 plant in April 2026, which is described as the world’s first carbon capture and storage facility from biogas production.

Other awards presented during the conference included the reputation prize, the betterVANN municipality of the year, the most active organization, and the most active person.
