Vecsés man arrested for suspected forced labor of five men

Police in Vecsés have arrested a 55-year-old man suspected of holding five vulnerable men in forced labor conditions for two years. The investigation began after one of the victims managed to escape and report the crime to authorities.

The victims were reportedly promised housing and stable employment, but were instead subjected to 10 to 14 hours of daily physical labor without pay or rest days. Their tasks included construction and electrical work in Budapest, as well as animal care at a property in Vecsés.

According to investigators, the men were kept in a state of constant fear through physical abuse and threats. The suspect has been placed in custody, while police continue to search for an accomplice.
