Vedaant Madhavan competes in men’s relay at Asian Games

Vedaant Madhavan, a 21-year-old swimmer and son of actor R Madhavan, has made his debut at the Asian Games in Japan. Competing as part of India’s 12-member swimming squad, Madhavan participated in the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay alongside teammates Sajan Prakash, Dhakshan Shashikumar, and Aneesh Sunil.

The Indian quartet clocked a time of 7:24.32 in the heats, finishing ninth out of 13 teams. As only the top eight teams advanced to the final, the relay team missed the opportunity to compete for a medal.

Madhavan’s campaign continues with individual events. He is scheduled to compete in the men’s 200m freestyle and the 200m backstroke. Prior to the Games, Madhavan expressed a desire to focus on his athletic performance and representing his country rather than his connection to the Bollywood film industry.
