Vedro Association postpones memorial hike to Lisac

The Vedro Association for the Development and Support of Mountaineering and Sports Tourism in Zenica has postponed its memorial hike, ‘Lisac – Steps of Remembrance,’ due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The excursion is dedicated to honoring five members of the association—Alma, Denis, Melih, Almir, and Nermin—who lost their lives on Mount Elbrus. Originally scheduled for October 11, the hike has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2026.

The planned 15-kilometer route begins in Vrselje and travels through Liskovača, Golub, Lisac, and Jelina before returning to Vrselje. The trek involves approximately 700 meters of elevation gain and is expected to take about seven hours. Organizers have expressed hope that the new date will allow participants to gather and honor the memory of their colleagues.
