Veeam Software releases Veeam Data Platform v13.1 for enhanced data resilience and AI security
Veeam Software announced the general availability of Veeam Data Platform v13.1, a unified solution aimed at improving data resilience and security for enterprises. The update adds compatibility with six new hypervisor platforms – Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, Sangfor aSV, XCP-ng, Citrix XenServer, VergeIO and Platform9 – raising the total supported hypervisors to fourteen. It also extends malware analysis to NAS environments, enhances cloud‑based threat detection, and introduces deeper protection for key enterprise applications such as EPIC EHR, Db2 for Windows and Oracle.
The company highlighted the growing cyber‑risk landscape driven by advanced AI models and autonomous agents. Rehan Jalil, Veeam’s President of Product and Technology, said, “The risk of cyber‑incidents is intensifying dramatically due to rapid advances in AI, making resilience essential for operational continuity and recovery.” Additional improvements include cost‑optimized long‑term retention for storage services like AWS S3 Glacier and Azure Archive, and refined detection and response capabilities in critical cloud locations.
