Veeda AI raises $90 million to develop world models for robotics

Veeda AI, a startup led by former Nvidia researcher Sanja Fidler, has raised $90 million in seed funding to develop world models for physical artificial intelligence. The company aims to create high-fidelity simulated environments that allow robots to learn complex physics, space, and movement before interacting with the real world.

Fidler, who previously led Nvidia’s Spatial Intelligence Lab in Toronto, argues that real-world trial and error is impractical for robotics due to hardware limitations and safety risks. Instead, Veeda AI intends to build a simulated reality that serves as critical infrastructure for the robotics industry.

The founding team includes Chief Scientist Huan Ling and CTO Zan Gojcic, both former Nvidia collaborators. The funding round included support from prominent venture capital firms such as Khosla Ventures and Radical Ventures.
