Veendam Launches New Night Bus Service for Youth

From this week the municipality of Veendam introduced night line 471, operated by Qbuzz, to improve safe late‑night transport for young people and other travellers. The service runs Thursday‑Friday, Friday‑Saturday and Saturday‑Sunday, departing around 03:09 am from Groningen's main station (with an extra stop at Zuiderdiep) and arriving at Veendam station at about 03:54 am. The night bus aims to prevent teenagers from being stranded after an evening out in Groningen and to provide a regular, affordable alternative to more costly transport options, fulfilling a long‑standing request from local residents and officials.
