Veezu appoints Joby Russell as Chief Marketing Officer
Veezu, the United Kingdom’s largest homegrown private hire technology business, has appointed Joby Russell as its first Chief Marketing Officer. Russell joins the company from Zoopla, where he served as Vice President of Marketing.
In his new role, Russell will oversee brand management, passenger marketing, and driver-partner attraction as the company seeks to expand its presence across the UK and compete with major rivals like Uber. His background includes leadership roles at Confused.com and Purplebricks, where he focused on scaling challenger brands and managing multichannel marketing campaigns.
Founded in Wales in 2013, Veezu operates by integrating local taxi and private hire firms with modern technology platforms. The company currently partners with thousands of self-employed drivers, completes over 25 million annual journeys, and holds licenses from 63 local authorities across England and Wales. This appointment follows Veezu’s recent strategic investment in Cab 9.
