Vegas Matt biopic ‘The Chop’ in development

Red Leaf Entertainment is developing a biopic titled ‘The Chop’, inspired by the life of Stephen Matt Morrow, a high-stakes gambler and social media influencer known as Vegas Matt. The film, written and produced by filmmaker and comedian Mike Young, is described as a rags-to-riches drama focusing on Morrow’s journey as an advantage slot player and his rise to prominence with over 1.6 million YouTube subscribers.

The project is targeting a 2027 production start. According to Young, the story explores themes of trust, friendship, and the American Dream through the lens of the high-stakes gambling subculture. Morrow noted that the film will delve into the ‘invisible economy’ and the real-life risks and relationships associated with his career.

Morrow recently made headlines after being escorted from and reportedly banned from the Venetian in Las Vegas following a $400,000 win. Additionally, his attorney has issued a demand letter alleging defamation against gambling-recovery advocate Rob Minnick regarding a video criticizing gambling influencers.
