Vegetables with higher fiber content than broccoli

While broccoli is widely regarded as a nutrient-dense superfood, it is not the highest source of dietary fiber. One cup of broccoli provides approximately 1.8 grams of fiber, making other vegetables more effective options for increasing fiber intake.

Dietitian Mandy Enright notes that adequate fiber consumption is vital for overall health, supporting digestive function and metabolic health. One notable alternative is peas, which provide approximately 5.7 grams of fiber per 100 grams, or about 8 grams per cup. Nutritionist Melissa Mitri explains that peas contain a combination of soluble and insoluble fibers, which assist in both gut bacteria nourishment and proper digestive regularity.
