Vehicle accidents on Java roads cause injuries and traffic disruptions
A truck trailer collided with a concrete road barrier on the Pantura highway in Cirebon, West Java, blocking the lane and triggering a lengthy traffic jam while spilling fuel that required sand to be spread for safety. Police said the driver swerved to avoid a larger truck, causing the trailer to become lodged on the barrier.
Separately, a motorcycle fell into a five‑metre deep ravine on the downhill tourist route near Pacet, Mojokerto, East Java. Two teenagers were seriously injured; one suffered bleeding from the mouth and the other lost consciousness with head injuries. They were rescued by locals and volunteers and taken to a regional hospital for treatment.
