Vehicle collision on Neuquén-Cipolletti bridge causes traffic delays

A collision involving a Scania truck and a grey Fiat Palio Weekend occurred on Friday evening, shortly after 7:00 PM, on the road bridges connecting Neuquén and Cipolletti. The incident took place at the entrance to the “Puente Viejo” on the lane heading from Neuquén toward Cipolletti.

According to reports, the Fiat Palio Weekend drifted toward the center of the roadway while entering the bridge, grazing the Scania truck, which was traveling in the right lane. Following the contact, the car changed direction and ended up facing the truck. After both vehicles came to a stop, the car rotated 180 degrees and struck the concrete bridge columns.

The Fiat sustained severe damage to its rear and sides, while the Scania truck, operated by Expreso Lancioni, showed no significant structural damage. No injuries have been officially confirmed. The accident caused significant traffic congestion during rush hour, with some delays reported exceeding 45 minutes. Traffic was partially interrupted or reduced to a single lane while authorities attended the scene, with some vehicles being diverted to the Third Bridge.
