Vehicle fire and crash in Sampang leaves two injured

A black Daihatsu Xenia caught fire and crashed into a pole in Sampang, Madura, on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The incident occurred around 10:45 WIB on Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto after the vehicle left the Pliyang gas station.

The driver, Moh. Rudi Mahsir, and a passenger, Musni, sustained injuries and were transported to the Kamoning Health Center for medical treatment. The vehicle suffered heavy damage, with material losses estimated at approximately Rp30 million.

Witnesses reported thick smoke emerging from the car shortly after it departed the gas station. Authorities noted the presence of a component resembling an additional fuel tank on the vehicle, though its function and whether it was used to transport subsidized fuel have not yet been confirmed. Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
