Vehicle fire near Bochum supermarket and workshop blaze in Bremervörde, Germany

On the night of 10‑11 June 2026, a vehicle fire broke out near a supermarket on Sommerdellenstraße in the Wattenscheid district of Bochum. Two transport trucks were engulfed, prompting a large response from the Bochum fire service, including water‑ and foam‑based extinguishing methods. The blaze was contained without any injuries and no damage to the supermarket was reported. Police are investigating the cause.

In early June 2026, a large fire destroyed a car‑repair workshop in the Mehedorf area of Bremervörde. Around 280 firefighters from 14 fire stations fought the flames for several hours, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures. No casualties were recorded, and the estimated property loss was about €800,000.
