Vehicle fires caused by short circuits reported in Zacatecas and Coahuila, Mexico

Two separate vehicle fire incidents were reported in northern Mexico. In Río Grande, Zacatecas, a pickup near the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) offices caught fire after a short circuit in the vehicle’s electrical system. Civil Protection and fire crews extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported, though the vehicle suffered material damage.

In the colonia Argentinas of Múzquiz, Coahuila, a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer also ignited due to a presumed short circuit. The owner, identified as Armando M., called emergency services, and firefighters contained the fire without any casualties. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. Authorities in both locations urged residents to regularly inspect vehicle electrical systems to prevent similar accidents.
