Curitiba Marcenaria Fire Damages 46‑Year‑Old Business, No Injuries Reported

On July 20, 2026, a blaze erupted at around 5:50 a.m. in a traditional carpentry workshop that has operated for 46 years in the São Braz neighborhood of Curitiba, Brazil. The fire consumed part of the two‑story warehouse, destroying machinery such as glue‑presses and packaging equipment, while the painting cabin remained unscathed. Firefighters contained the flames before they could reach nearby residential houses.

No injuries were reported. Owner‑partner Rodrigo Mota said the company has no insurance and the financial loss cannot yet be quantified. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire brigade’s technical team.
