Vehicle fires reported in León and La Paz
A panel-style pickup truck caught fire and exploded during the early hours of Tuesday, November 3, in the Andrade neighborhood of León. Preliminary reports from municipal authorities suggest the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. The incident occurred at the intersection of Florencia Street and Tepeyac Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing explosions, likely from the vehicle's fuel, as the fire spread from the front to the rear of the truck. Firefighters eventually controlled the flames, and no injuries were reported.
In a separate incident on the night of November 3, a Kenworth 2023 tractor-trailer caught fire in the San Pedro community of La Paz, Baja California Sur. The driver, a 37-year-old man from Tijuana, reported seeing smoke and hearing a detonation inside the cargo compartment after stopping near a commercial establishment. Emergency responders and firefighters arrived to extinguish the flames and clear remaining embers. No injuries were reported in this incident.
