Vehicle fires reported in São Luís and São Miguel do Oeste

Two separate vehicle fires occurred on Friday in Brazil. In the Historic Center of São Luís, Maranhão, a car caught fire, reportedly due to a short circuit, while ascending a hill near the Palácio dos Leões. The driver managed to exit and engage the handbrake, but the vehicle eventually rolled down the slope while engulfed in flames. The car struck construction barriers, a concrete marker, and a street lamp before being fully consumed. No injuries were reported, and firefighters controlled the blaze.

In São Miguel do Oeste, Santa Catarina, a large fire completely destroyed a vehicle parked behind a residence. Firefighters used approximately 2,000 liters of water to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to the house. While the building was not directly consumed, the intense heat melted part of the residence's PVC ceiling. The cause of this fire has not yet been determined, and no injuries were reported.
