Vehicle fires reported in Veracruz and Villa de Pozos
Two separate vehicle fires involving passenger vehicles were reported in Mexico and San Luis Potosí.
In Veracruz, a recent model Chevrolet Trax was destroyed by fire while traveling on the Poza Rica–Tihuatlán highway near the La Isla community. The driver, identified as Enrique “N”, managed to escape safely. Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit may have caused the blaze. Emergency responders, including the Fire Department, State Police, and National Guard, attended the scene to control the flames and temporarily closed the road before reopening it.
In Villa de Pozos, a white panel-style truck caught fire after colliding with a palm tree on San Antonio Boulevard. The collision, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, likely caused a fuel leak that ignited the engine and cabin. While the occupants escaped without injury, the vehicle suffered total loss of the engine and front seating. Municipal Civil Protection responded to extinguish the fire.
