As summer temperatures rise, automotive experts and industry leaders are emphasizing the importance of rigorous vehicle maintenance to prevent engine overheating and mechanical failure.

In the Southeast Anatolia region, experts advise drivers to prioritize the inspection of engine oil, coolant, antifreeze, tire pressure, and braking systems. To prevent overheating while driving on inclines, it is recommended to use lower gears and maintain engine revolutions around 3,000 RPM. In the event of overheating, drivers are advised to turn the heater to the maximum setting to help dissipate heat.

On an industrial scale, the increasing frequency of heatwaves is placing additional strain on cooling systems and engine oils. Service centers are facing heightened operational pressure due to the diverse range of vehicles on the road. Data from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) indicates there are approximately 249 million passenger cars on EU roads, with an average age exceeding 12 years. This requires technicians to manage a wide variety of maintenance needs, ranging from older high-mileage diesel engines to modern turbo-charged petrol and hybrid models, all of which require specific oil specifications for optimal performance and reliability.
