Vehicle swept away by flood in Gebze found six days later

A vehicle swept away by floodwaters in the Kadıllı neighborhood of Gebze, Kocaeli, was discovered six days later in the Göçbeyli Stream in Pendik. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM on a Saturday when a sudden flash flood struck the area.

While the driver, Mustafa Deniz Ertaş, survived the incident, two of his companions, Fatih Demirtaş and Doğan Arslan, lost their lives. Following the flood, search and rescue teams from the Gendarmerie (JAK), fire department, and AFAD conducted operations to locate the victims.

The vehicle was found approximately 3.5 kilometers away from the original site after water levels receded. Local officials and residents reported that the vehicle's frame remained at the site, though the doors were missing. Authorities are currently conducting investigations at the scene.
