Vehicles donated to aid Chiba heavy rain disaster recovery

Various entities are donating vehicles to the Japan Car Sharing Association to support recovery efforts following the heavy rains in Chiba.

Akiko Arakawa, a resident of Utsunomiya, donated a light passenger car she had used for 17 years. Her decision was motivated by news reports showing the large number of submerged vehicles in the disaster area, with the hope that the car would assist in rebuilding lives.

Additionally, Autobacs Seven Co., Ltd. donated five light vehicles to the association on September 19, 2026. As a participant in the Mobility Resilience Alliance, the company provides vehicles and maintenance services to help maintain lifelines in disaster-stricken areas. The association utilizes donated vehicles, including those that are no longer drivable, to provide free car-sharing services to victims of large-scale floods across Japan.
