Veikkaus appoints Chris Armes to lead gaming technology
Veikkaus has appointed Chris Armes as the new Executive Vice President of Gaming Technologies and a member of its management team. Armes, who joins from the international gaming technology firm High5Games, is expected to begin his role at the company's Helsinki headquarters in the autumn of 2026.
This leadership change is part of Veikkaus's strategic preparation for the liberalization of the Finnish gambling market, which is scheduled to transition to a regulated licensing model in July 2027. Armes will focus on building scalable, secure digital platforms and implementing technological innovations, including AI and cybersecurity, to prepare for increased competition from private providers.
Additionally, Veikkaus announced that Velipekka Nummikoski will depart the company on August 31 after 14 years of service.
