VeinteSocial launches as an ad-free, algorithm-free social network
Spanish web developer Víctor Martín has launched VeinteSocial, a new social media application designed to prioritize user connections over algorithmic engagement. Unlike mainstream platforms that utilize recommendation engines and advertisements to maximize time spent on the app, VeinteSocial operates on a chronological feed. This ensures that users see posts from their contacts in the order they are published.
The platform is ad-free, a decision Martín made to prevent business models from dictating app design. While the developer currently covers all project costs personally, he is considering future paid options to fund growth. The app supports photos, videos, text, polls, and stories that disappear after 24 hours, aiming to provide a streamlined experience where users can ‘catch up with their people and then leave’ without being distracted by strangers or automated accounts.
