Vejdirektoratet conducts helicopter surveys for Næstvedmotorvej

The Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) is conducting geophysical surveys via a low-flying helicopter to map the underground terrain for the upcoming Næstvedmotorvej. Starting September 2, the operation is expected to last five days, covering the area between Næstved and Rønnede.

The helicopter will fly in parallel lines approximately 50 meters above the ground, carrying an electromagnetic measurement system that hangs 10 to 15 meters above the surface. This equipment is designed to detect variations in soil composition, such as clay, sand, and limestone. These findings will supplement existing geotechnical drilling data to provide a comprehensive view of the soil layers for future highway planning.

The measurements are being carried out by the company SkyTEM. Residents in the vicinity may notice and hear the helicopter during this period. The schedule remains subject to weather conditions and may change with short notice.
