Veľké Kapušany student charged with threatening teacher with knife

An 18-year-old student has been charged with dangerous threats following an incident at a school in Veľké Kapušany. During a lesson on Tuesday, October 13, the student reportedly grabbed a knife and declared his intention to stab someone.

A teacher intervened and successfully disarmed the student, which led to a verbal confrontation. The student allegedly threatened to kill the teacher and fled the school premises. Police located and detained the individual shortly after his escape.

Prosecutors have filed a motion for the student to be held in custody. Investigations revealed that the individual was previously involved in a separate incident at the same school in late September. Slovak Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka stated that authorities will respond uncompromisingly to such increasing cases of threats and intimidation.
