Velavan Senthilkumar reaches Budapest Open semifinals
Indian squash players Velavan Senthilkumar and Veer Chotrani have advanced deep into the Budapest Open, a PSA copper event with a $43,500 prize fund.
Velavan Senthilkumar, seeded 9/16, secured a spot in the semifinals after a significant upset victory against the top seed and Malaysian player Eain Yow Ng. Senthilkumar previously defeated German player Raphael Kandra and British player Will Salter to reach the later stages of the tournament.
Veer Chotrani, the third seed and World No. 38, reached the quarterfinals after defeating Portugal’s Rui Soares in a four-game match. The tournament is being held in Hungary.
