Velbert Fire Department hosts community open house

The Velbert Fire Department hosted a community open house event on October 3 as part of the nationwide “Türen auf mit der Maus” action day. Under the theme “Kleine Wunder,” the event invited children and families to explore the fire and rescue station in Velbert-Mitte.

More than 180 children participated in the activities, which included learning about firefighting tasks, inspecting equipment, and viewing fire vehicles. The program featured various experiments designed to demonstrate firefighting phenomena through play. While children explored the stations, parents were given the opportunity to learn about the department's diverse responsibilities and interact with emergency personnel.
