Velika Gorica launches climate resilience survey

The City of Velika Gorica and the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica have launched a public survey as part of the LoRIS (Local Resilience to Climate Risks) project. The initiative aims to gather citizen feedback on climate change, the impact of extreme weather on health, and the use of green urban spaces.

The survey is a key component of the city’s Green Urban Renewal Strategy. It seeks to understand residents' experiences with climate risks over the last decade, specifically regarding heatwaves and health issues, as well as their needs for green infrastructure and recreational facilities. The data collected will serve as a professional basis for planning future resilience activities and urban development.

The LoRIS project has a total budget of €572,284.47, with 85 percent (€486,441.79) funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The project began on February 1, 2026, and is scheduled to run for 36 months, concluding on January 31, 2029. The survey is voluntary, anonymous, and open to all adult residents of Velika Gorica.
