Velika Gorica Leads Croatia in Job Creation and Above‑Average Wages
In 2025 the city of Velika Gorica recorded the strongest increase in employment among all Croatian towns, adding 7,589 jobs to reach a total of 27,800 workers. The average net salary for employees of local entrepreneurs rose to €1,341, surpassing both county and national averages. Excluding Zagreb, Velika Gorica now ranks fourth in total employment after Split, Rijeka and Osijek and is among the ten cities with the highest jobs‑per‑capita ratio.
Business zones Meridian 16 and Rakitovec have attracted new investments, while the upcoming Kušanec‑Istok entrepreneurial zone is expected to further expand investor interest. Revenues of Velika Gorica entrepreneurs grew by 11.1% and consolidated net profit reached €205.9 million, a 22.3% rise year‑on‑year. Mayor Krešimir Ačkar highlighted the results as evidence of a sustainable economic upswing and pledged continued support for investors and infrastructure projects.
