Velika Gorica plans new 51-hectare economic zone

The City of Velika Gorica has concluded a public discussion regarding proposed amendments to the Urban Development Plan for the Kušanec-Istok economic zone. The project covers more than 500,000 square meters of land located on the southern edge of the city, situated between the Pokupsko state road, the Zagreb–Sisak highway, and the Sava–Odra canal.

The plan updates aim to align older spatial solutions with current needs, new cadastral measurements, and existing regulations. Key changes include redefining traffic routes, surface areas, and construction conditions for transport and utility infrastructure to facilitate the efficient use of the space.

This development follows a significant milestone in May, when the Croatian government donated state-owned land to the city. The donated land is valued at approximately 31.64 million euros. The current planning phase establishes the spatial and legal prerequisites for future construction of economic facilities and access roads.
