Velika Gorica prosecutors investigate illegal waste dumping

The County State Attorney's Office in Velika Gorica has launched an investigation into Krešimir Miličević (50), his father Krešimir Miličević (87), and their company, Max Logistika. The duo is suspected of committing a serious environmental crime by illegally accumulating waste in the Velika Kosnica area over a 12-year period.

Authorities allege that from August 2014, the suspects collected large quantities of construction byproducts, unusable demolition materials, asbestos, plastic, electrical, and metal waste. This material was reportedly buried using heavy machinery and covered with soil, creating mounds several meters high.

The dumping occurred in areas designated as water pumping zones for Kosnica, posing a significant threat to soil quality and potentially endangering groundwater, forests, and local wildlife. The investigation suggests the actions were taken to secure illegal financial benefits for the company.
