Veliko Tarnovo sports clubs unite for charity event to support 10-year-old Laura
Eight sports clubs and organizations are organizing a charity event titled ‘Let’s train together for Laura’ in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. The event is scheduled for November 1 at 11:00 AM in the sports hall of ‘Emilian Stanev’ secondary school.
Organized by the NEKO Sports Club with support from the Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, the initiative brings together disciplines including karate, MMA, boxing, and taekwondo. Participants will engage in demonstrations and mixed training sessions, with opportunities for the public to join the activities regardless of prior experience.
The fundraiser supports 10-year-old Laura, who suffers from a rare progressive neurodegenerative disease caused by a mutation in the IRF2BPL gene. The goal is to raise 200,000 euros to fund a targeted therapy being developed in Germany, which is critical for her ability to walk, speak, and communicate.
Notable supporters include Olympic karate champion Ivet Goranova, who is donating an autographed protector for a charity auction, and Miroslav Velikov, winner of the seventh season of ‘Survivor’ (Igri na volyata).
