Velletri community holds memorial procession for Edoardo Petrella

The community of Velletri is mourning the sudden death of 14-year-old Edoardo Petrella, who passed away between October 1 and October 2. Approximately 2,000 people participated in a silent, torch-lit procession through the city streets, moving from Piazza Garibaldi to San Clemente to honor his memory.

The memorial march was led by Bishop Stefano Russo, Mayor Ascanio Cascella, and local parish priest Don Andrea. The event served as a collective expression of grief, bringing together friends, families, and local residents to support the bereaved family.

Ambrogio Morrone, the director of the ITIS ‘G. Vallauri’ school which Petrella had recently joined, issued a heartfelt circular to students and staff. Morrone expressed the school's profound shock and emphasized the importance of the educational community remaining united to care for one another during such painful times. He pledged ongoing support for the family and the student body.
