Velo Warta cycling route project gains municipal support
Representatives from 19 municipalities, along with Łódź Voivodeship Marshal Joanna Skrzydlewska and Vice-Marshal Agnieszka Ryś, have signed a letter of intent to cooperate on the Velo Warta cycling route project.
The planned route will span over 200 km, running close to the Warta River from the border of the Silesian Voivodeship to the border of the Greater Poland Voivodeship. The project aims to create various cycling loops using existing bridges in Bobrowniki, Lisowice, Działoszyn, and Załęcze Wielkie, as well as a new pedestrian-cyclist footbridge in Załęcze Małe.
Local officials, including Pątnów Mayor Jacek Olczyk, noted that the project is expected to stimulate local economies and promote physical health. Future steps include developing a functional-utility program and conducting consultations to finalize the specific route alignments.
