Vemo expands electric vehicle charging route between Morelia and Veracruz

Vemo Charging Network (VCN) has expanded its fast-charging infrastructure in Mexico, establishing a new route of over 600 kilometers connecting Morelia with Veracruz. The corridor facilitates long-distance travel for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles by providing charging points across five states: Michoacán, Estado de México, Ciudad de México, Puebla, and Veracruz.

The network includes seven charging points with a total of 20 fast connectors and an installed capacity of 1,330 kW. This expansion aims to reduce ‘range anxiety’ by allowing drivers to plan interurban trips through central Mexico toward the Gulf of Mexico with greater certainty.

According to Carlos Levy, director of VCN, such infrastructure is a fundamental pillar for accelerating the adoption of electric mobility. Vemo currently reports a total of 1,950 connectors distributed across 18 Mexican states, facilitating more than 120,000 charging sessions per month.
