Vemo issues first 9,000 carbon credits for electric fleet

Vemo, an electric mobility ecosystem in Mexico, has issued its first 9,000 carbon credits. These credits, verified under Verra’s VCS standard, are derived from the operations of its electric fleet through the ‘Vemo Conduce’ program, which provides formal employment for mobility platform drivers.

According to the company’s 2025 Sustainability Report, Vemo’s electric vehicles reduce operational carbon dioxide emissions (CO2e) by 66% in Mexico compared to internal combustion engine equivalents. Last year, the company avoided 17,156 tCO2e through its clean mobility solutions, a 53% increase from the 11,232 tCO2e avoided in 2024. Since 2021, the total cumulative avoided emissions have reached 42,161 tCO2e.

In terms of air quality, the company reported avoiding 12.2 tons of atmospheric pollutants—including particulate matter (PM), NOx, and SOx—in 2025, representing a 26% increase over 2024. Additionally, the company reached over 270 million electric kilometers driven.
