Vena Energy announces ₱245.3B renewable energy expansion in the Philippines

Vena Energy is advancing 2.6 GWp of renewable energy capacity in the Philippines through a planned ₱245.3-billion investment. The expansion includes 0.9 GWp of existing operational capacity, such as solar facilities in Ilocos Norte and Negros Occidental, with an additional 1.3 GWp currently under construction and another 1.3 GWp under contract.

Singapore-headquartered Vena Energy presented these expansion plans to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during a meeting in Singapore. The discussions, which included the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Finance, focused on strengthening the clean energy grid to support growing industrial sectors and accelerating project development through the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program.

In a related industry development, stakeholders gathered for Philippines Clean Energy Week 2026 to address the country’s energy transition. The event highlighted critical priorities for renewable energy growth, including grid readiness, transmission and interconnection constraints, battery energy storage systems, and the financing structures required to move projects from planning to operation.
