Vendas Novas to launch Walking and Running Center in 2027

Vendas Novas will establish a new Walking and Running Center starting in January 2027. The initiative is part of the National Walking and Running Program of the Portuguese Athletics Federation.

The project was formalized on September 27 during activities celebrating the European Week of Sport. The partnership involves the Portuguese Athletics Federation, the Municipality of Vendas Novas, and the Associação de Jovens da Landeira (AJL). The center will offer guided walking and running sessions tailored to various fitness levels to encourage healthy lifestyles.

The formalization ceremony included the presence of Mayor Ricardo Videira and Councilor Sofia Batista. The event drew approximately 170 participants of all ages, featuring a four-kilometer walk and various athletic challenges for younger participants organized by the AJL.
