Veneto allocates millions for school books amid local charitable efforts

In the Veneto region of Italy, initiatives are underway to support students with the cost of school books. The Veneto regional government has approved a fund of approximately 4.76 million euros, which could increase by an additional 361,533 euros, to provide 'Book Vouchers' for the 2026-2027 school year. These funds, provided by the Ministry of Education and Merit, target families with low ISEE income levels. Students in the first income bracket (up to 10,632.94 euros) can receive up to 200 euros, while those in the second bracket (up to 15,748.78 euros) can receive up to 150 euros.

Complementing these institutional efforts, the Centro Storico association, in collaboration with Compagnia Musicante and the Metal Kaos 1988 group, has successfully provided books and school supplies to all families that requested them. This charitable effort was made possible through donations from local merchants and private individuals, despite economic challenges and uncertainty regarding future funding from the '5 per mille' tax allocation due to potential Third Sector reforms.
