Veneto approves law recognizing family caregivers

The Veneto Regional Council has approved a new law to recognize and support family caregivers. The legislation aims to integrate these individuals into the regional social and health service networks, acknowledging their social and economic value in assisting people with disabilities, illnesses, or non-self-sufficiency.

Regional President Alberto Stefani stated that the law affects more than 260,000 residents in Veneto, positioning caregivers as a fundamental component of the regional assistance network. The measure was passed with support from both the majority and the opposition.
