Veneto moves 2026‑27 school year end to June 8 to avoid exam clash
The Veneto regional council approved a revision of the 2026‑27 academic calendar, advancing the final school day for primary, middle and high schools to Tuesday, 8 June 2027. The change resolves a conflict with the national Ministry of Education’s schedule for the State Maturity exams, which begin with a written test on 16 June 2027, leaving only four days after the previously set 12 June closure for final grading and administrative procedures.
The revised calendar keeps the start of lessons on 10 September 2026 and aligns holidays and breaks with national observances. By ending classes on 8 June, schools gain additional time to complete final assessments, convene class councils and prepare examination commissions before the exams commence.
The adjustment applies to all schools in Veneto’s first and second education cycles, while infant schools retain a later end date of 30 June 2027.
