Veneto sees tripling of negotiated settlement requests
Requests for negotiated settlements in the Veneto region have more than tripled in two years, according to Unioncamere Observatory data. The number of applications rose from 132 on May 15, 2024, to 252 in 2025, reaching 413 in 2026.
This trend places Veneto fourth in Italy for such procedures, following Lombardy, Lazio, and Emilia-Romagna. The negotiated settlement tool allows companies in financial distress to work with independent experts to negotiate with banks, suppliers, and other creditors to avoid business closure.
Similar growth is observed in the Northeast of Italy. In Friuli Venezia Giulia, requests increased from 21 in 2024 to 75 in 2026. Including Trento and Bolzano, the entire Northeast region saw procedures rise from 164 to 520 over the same period, highlighting a growing use of crisis management tools in manufacturing-heavy territories.
