Veneto shifts school year end to June 8 2027, leads national INVALSI scores
The Veneto regional government approved a decree moving the final day of classes to Tuesday 8 June 2027, four days earlier than the originally planned 12 June. The change aligns the regional calendar with the national schedule for the state exams, which begin on 16 June 2027, and provides schools more time for final assessments and exam preparations.
In the same period, the 2026 INVALSI results placed Veneto among the top regions in Italy. The report highlighted that 67 % of secondary students met or exceeded the adequacy level in mathematics, 21.1 % reached the highest performance tier, and 62 % of lower‑secondary pupils achieved national targets in Italian. English listening scores also topped the nation, with 82 % reaching the A2 level. Regional Education Assessor Valeria Mantovan said the region “conjuga elevati livelli di apprendimento associati a una contenuta dispersione dei risultati,” underscoring Veneto’s model of excellence and equity in schooling.
