Veneto to host 2027 Coldiretti National Flower Congress
The Veneto region will host the fifth Coldiretti National Flower Congress in 2027. The announcement was made during the IV National Congress in Torre del Lago Puccini, marking a symbolic handover from Coldiretti Toscana to Coldiretti Veneto.
Carlo Salvan, president of Coldiretti Veneto, stated that the event serves as an opportunity to highlight regional businesses and address the specific needs of the floriculture sector, including competitiveness and environmental quality. The Veneto floriculture industry consists of approximately 1,300 companies covering nearly 2,500 hectares, with a production value exceeding 225 million euros. The province of Padova is a major hub, hosting about 400 companies, which accounts for 30% of the regional total.
On a national scale, the Italian floriculture sector is a significant component of the ‘Made in Italy’ brand, comprising roughly 19,000 companies and 30,000 hectares. The industry's production value is projected to exceed 3.5 billion euros by 2025, following a record-breaking year for Italian plant and flower exports.
