Veneto Unveils Teacher Recruitment Rules for 2026‑27 School Year

The Veneto regional education authority has published detailed procedures for appointing teachers for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Recruitment will continue to allocate 50 % of positions from competition rankings and 50 % from Graduatorie ad Esaurimento (GAE). For kindergarten and primary schools, the order of ranking use includes the 2016 competition, the 2018 extraordinary competition, the 2020 ordinary competition, PNRR competitions (2023‑2025), and eligible lists, following article 399, paragraph 3‑ter of Legislative Decree 297/1994. The same mechanism applies to secondary schools, with specific STEM priorities for the 2021‑2022 competitions.

Support teaching posts (GPS) are extended for 2026‑2027, with vacant positions filled by temporary contracts under DM 111/2024, extended by DM 58/2026. New applicants must explicitly accept the assigned school within five days (or by 1 September if the assignment occurs after 28 August); failure to do so results in forfeiture of the appointment. The authorized contingent for 2026‑2027 totals 46,642 immissions, to be allocated after accounting for mobility vacancies. Reservations include quotas for law 68/1999, victims of terrorism, military volunteers, and provisions of law 104/1992 for site selection. The process is fully digital, covering province and competition‑class selection, site assignment, and irrevocable renunciation of unaccepted provinces.
