Venezia conducts storm damage cleanup and safety inspections

Authorities in Venezia are conducting extensive safety inspections and cleanup operations following severe storms that hit the region on August 20 and 21. The bad weather, characterized by heavy rain and strong winds, caused significant damage, including the fall of numerous trees across several areas.

Over 30 civil protection volunteers, working in coordination with the Vigili del Fuoco, were deployed to secure the territory. Major interventions took place in Marghera, Mestre, and San Giuliano. Emergency crews worked through the night to manage fallen trees and assess safety risks in residential and public areas.

Municipal technicians are continuing assessments in various districts, including Bonelle, to plan further interventions. Cleanup efforts involve removing debris from roadways to ensure traffic flow, followed by work in public parks such as Giardino Volante and Parco Baden Powell. In some instances, fallen logs are being preserved for local artistic projects.
