Venezia evaluates Giovanni Stroppa’s future after five losses
The future of manager Giovanni Stroppa at Venezia is uncertain following the club’s fifth consecutive defeat in Serie A, a 0-2 loss against Lazio. Despite the poor results, Stroppa defended his performance, stating that the team’s statistics and work do not reflect their position at the bottom of the table with zero points.
Venezia’s ownership is evaluating the technical project and the summer transfer market led by General Director Filippo Antonelli. Significant investments were made, most notably the acquisition of Akor Adams for up to 20 million euros with an annual salary of approximately 2.2 million euros.
While the club is considering coaching changes, finding a replacement has proven difficult. Igor Tudor has reportedly declined interest, and Roberto D’Aversa is hesitant to accept a new role immediately. Alberto Gilardino remains a potential candidate under evaluation, though no formal negotiations have taken place.
